It’s late afternoon when you and your love arrive at The Fairmont Orchid Spa for your romantic couples massage.  You walk though the beautiful hotel to the rain forest garden created at the center of the building.

Shortly a spa attendant arrives to review the massage menu.

She reviews with you the Hawaiian inspired treatments and massages.  She explains the award-winning Spa Without Walls boasts eight private outdoor waterfall hale, six rejuvenating oceanside hale,  four indoor treatment rooms and sauna and steam rooms.  She explains that the process is designed to allow you to restore, relax and rejuvenate together in paradise.  You learn about the Ali’i (pron. a-LEE-ee) Experience.  Ali’i is the Hawaiian word for royalty.

The Ali’i Experience offers synergistic healing beginning with a 50-minute Hawaiian lomilomi massage and foot wrap, followed by a compress of specially blended Hawaiian herbs applied to the body, encouraging physical and mental relaxation called Awa, Earth and Fire.  The Kahinu body treatment follows, using warm coconut oil slowly poured over the hair and scalp, followed by cleansing herbs.  Topping off this Polynesian pleasure is a scalp, neck, shoulder, hand and foot massage with essences of sandalwood, frankincense and myrrh.
